September 20, 2022I have been pretty enamored with a photographer out of Russia named Maria Patsan. She works in advertisement by trade, but her photography always spoke to me, and I would often use her photos for references or art studies. Eventually, I wanted to do a portrait of her in a way that would see her reflected in her own photography. So the concept was to paint her into her own photograph and then embellish the portrait with more details of her life.
I added elements like her name on the refrigerator, camera, and teapot and her son’s name on the coffee grinder. And subtly put her reflection on the fridge and painted her face in the camera’s lens.
