Script Excerpt
MACHINE: Are you prepared to make a plea in your case?
CALVIN: I’d like to make a discovery request for evidence disclosure, please. I haven’t been able to review any of the “so-called” evidence against me.
MACHINE: Discovery Docket 0119-6aHz-5667-Zhlp-1. Defendant Calvin Andre Hyland. Surveillance footage. 8.256 minutes. 11 witness statements. 11 witness interviews. 946 mins. Vix medical scan log. Plat report. Toxicology. Forensics and Histology report. Weapons report. Expert Witness trajectory report. Prepare for upload.
CALVIN: I’m ready. Let me review.
Calvin’s body seizes and his eyes flicker as he processes the entire trove of information in a matter of moments. As he releases from the upload, he collapses forward, gasping for breath.
MACHINE: If you were to agree to this plea, your sentence would be administered by METACITIZEN/REHAB INITIATIVES via VZip Uploads and augmented memory implants.
MACHINE: You will be able to experience the entirety of your incarceration in 5.65685424948 seconds. Do you wish to accept?
CALVIN: Wait a minute, so you’re saying if I accept this plea, I only have to serve five seconds?
MACHINE: That is incorrect. You will serve 250 years. With a VZip Upload and AVI Augmented Memory implants you will be able to experience your sentence within 5.65685424948 seconds, but from your perspective everything will feel as if in real time.
CALVIN: But it ain’t, bro. Like, our legal system is a joke, but this sentencing shit is probably the biggest scam yall got running.
MACHINE: The maximum sentencing for this offense is 2500 years.
CALVIN: 2500 years? But I can plea down to 5 seconds??? Well, I’m going to take the 5 seconds!
Calvin accepts the deal believing the sentence will pass like a technicality. The system is counting on that mistake.

Short Fiction Excerpt
“Justin, stop. This is insane. This is not a decision you can walk back from.”
Justin regarded Claudia with a strange, mischievous calm, the gun rocking from his finger like something too familiar to frighten him. A dimple formed at the edge of his grin.
“Look,” Justin said, “my mind is made up. I don’t need to walk back from anything. I’m one hundred percent sure about this.”
“When have you been sure about anything? You change your mind every thirty seconds, for Christ’s sake.”
“Claudia, stop.” His usual blue-green eyes, the ones with the hazel starburst around the iris, shifted into something harder. His eyes always seemed to change color with his mood. “I’m not doing this as some kind of cry for help. This isn’t me trying to decide what movie to watch or whether we should get Chinese or Indian. This is serious.”
Claudia’s mind was racing. She needed to get him help, but first she had to get the gun away from him. Then what? Threaten to shoot him if he didn’t stop trying to kill himself? She had wanted to call 911, but Justin had taken her phone when she arrived, and his phone was lying behind him on the futon.
“Justin. Give. Me. The. Gun.”
Claudia punctuated each word like artillery fire. Her eyes flared at him as if fury alone could bend him back toward the living.
“Claudia, I can’t.”
“Why would you do this? I don’t understand.”
Claudia and Justin had been friends since middle school. She was introverted and pensive; he was gregarious and impossible. It was a cliche, but it worked.
“I didn’t call you over here to freak you out,” Justin said.
“I want to help you, Justin.”
“That’s not why I called you over here either.” He gave her a soft smile. “I just wanted to see you. That’s all. We don’t have a lot of time.”
Claudia felt all the air leave her body.
“Then talk to me,” she said. “Can we at least talk before you do whatever it is you’re planning to do?”
Justin looked at her for a long moment.
“Yeah,” he said. “We can talk. I’d like that.”

Classical logic struggles to assign stable truth values to self-referential propositions such as the Liar Paradox. Procedural Truth Logic approaches these propositions through behavior rather than static assignment.
The key insight of PTL is that dynamic propositions encode procedures, not static truth assignments. Instead of asking only whether a proposition is true or false in isolation, PTL evaluates what the proposition does when its own conditions are processed.
A static proposition contains no recursive dependency on its own truth conditions. A dynamic proposition, by contrast, contains a recursive dependency that generates an unavoidable self-referential evaluation process.
PTL distinguishes between procedural behavior and MetaTruth. Procedural behavior describes how a proposition evaluates over time: stable, oscillating, contradictory, or divergent. MetaTruth asks whether that behavior satisfies the proposition’s claim.
Crucially, MetaTruth is not treated as another recursive semantic object. It is the result of a terminating evaluation procedure. This preserves binary truth values while avoiding infinite regress.
In this sense, PTL does not replace classical logic. For stable propositions, it produces the same truth assignments. Classical logic becomes a special case where procedural evaluation terminates immediately.
The framework converts paradox from an unresolved condition into a classified and testable result: not by expanding the number of truth values, but by expanding the method of evaluation.
